It seems this time of year is when I really miss our past mainland adventures. Don't get me wrong, living in Hawaii is pretty perfect, but once in awhile I crave the sights of the beautiful continental United States for a change. Luckily, I can relive the experiences with my knife, and that's exactly what I spent the past few weeks doing.

I love painting the cute little Hawaiian plantation style hales (houses) found in lush tropical settings, including palm trees, mountain waterfalls, and the all important moa (chickens). The bright red trim on this one compliments the red ginger that landscapes the property -- giving the cottage it's name!
Here is a view you will find on one of the many gorgeous tropical golf courses of Wailea, Maui. The islands of Kaho'olawe and Molokini can be seen in the distance. The colorful foliage, including Palm Trees, Plumeria, and bougainvillea, make it quite scenic!
