The past two weeks have been filled with spectacular voggy red sunrises, humpback whales breaching, monk seals, honu, and small glassy fun waves.
Perfect mornings like this sure make me feel like painting. So lucky we live Hawaii!
Here is my latest surf painting, inspired by the small wave dawn patrol mornings.
A 12x24 scene from Kawaikui Beach Park (Puuikena), on Oahu's south east shore, at the base of Hawaii Loa Ridge. With gorgeous palm trees lining the beach, you can see all the way to Koko Crater and Hawaii Kai!
"Another Fine Day"
Last year, I painted a similar scene and named it “One Fine Day”. I liked the scene and the name so much that I decided to paint it again, and this one became “Another Fine Day”!
2014 was a great year filled with my two favorite things - painting & surfing! I managed to rack up 172 great - and not so great - sunrise surf mornings, and 174 new palette knife paintings. OK...OK... so a few of those paintings were on the smaller size, they still count, don't they?!?
Looking forward to 2015 being filled with more of the same.
A HUGE MAHALO to everyone who supports my artwork!
