My friend, Lynne, has her very own solo show going on now, and the opening reception is this weekend. I am so excited for her! It is called “Opposites” because Lynne lives here in Hawaii and paints mostly tropical landscapes, but two months out of the year, she travels to Hungary and paints plein air there – a totally opposite type of scenery.
Lynne is the one who introduced me to plein air painting over a year ago, and I am so grateful to her for showing me how fun and exciting it is to paint outdoors. If the name Lynne Boyer sounds familiar to you, it is probably because in 1978 and 79 she was the WORLD CHAMPION of women’s surfing! I knew of “Lynne Boyer the surfer” long before I even knew she was an artist, and I feel lucky to not only have been able to meet her, but to become friends and plein air together….
Now…. if only I could surf like her!
If you are on Oahu, be sure to stop by and check out her show. You will not be disappointed!
