The surf has been so junk these past three months here in Hawaii.
Dean and I are dreaming of mainland hikes and camping once again, to fill the void. Beautiful flora and fauna that cannot be found on an island. Pine trees, high mountain lakes, pikas & pine martens, deer, bear, and moose. Yes moose. We see them often on our Utah hikes and they always make our day extra special!

"You Can't See Me"
20x24 Palette Knife Painting

If you only knew, Mr. Moose, how that big beautiful rack of yours reveals your secret hiding spot!

Some close-ups of this painting.

Below are just a few of our many Moose Sightings.

This is the moose that inspired my painting "You Can't See Me".
(No, not Dean, the one in the background.) From far away, we just saw a light brown spot in the marsh, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a set of antlers, connected to a big brown body.

And then another, not quite as hidden.

One day, while eating lunch at Lake Martha,
we had a few visitors.

And not just one or two. In this photo, if you look carefully, you will see three moose. There were actually FIVE of them right here, enjoying their lunch along with us. What an unreal day!

Mahalo for taking the time to view my artwork.
